Training on EuroMed cooperation and cultural dimension

16 Latvian participants spent 4 days in a Mediterranean atmosphere near Riga, even though behind window it was still winter time. The aim of TC was to discuss on EuroMed within cultural context, cooperation tools and to motivate interest about the neighbouring region of EU.

Latvian culture meets Georgian culture through EVS
Our first EVS volunteer is going to Georgia in March 2010.

Sigita will spend 7 months in voluntarily work in Youth Association DRONI with the aim to promote volunteerism in Georgia, to raise the visibility on European programmes and to develop new projects within organization and local museums. The project is supported by “Youth in Action” programme.

Thanks to our key partners Stepanavan Youth Center in Armenia and Youth Association DRONI in Georgia, organization Youth for Society is mentioned in  the Neighbouring Partner Countries – Good Practise Projects Database. It was created on basis of seminar “Let’s evaluate with our Neighbours” where in October 2009 over 60 youth workers from Programme countries and all neighbouring regions of European Union (Eastern Europe & Caucasus, Euromed, South East Europe) met in Poland to evaluate cooperation in frames of Youth in Action Programme.

The projects mentioned with the partnership of YfS are:

• youth exchange “Peace through Photography” that took place in Armenia, July 2008
• training course “Youth NGOs in Media” that was organized in Georgia, February 2008
